We are not currently accepting commercial fleet work, commercial zero-turns, or priority commercial service accounts. Diagnostic fees may apply if repairs are declined. Labor warranty is 30 days on the specific repair performed.
West Edge Repairs & Service provides repair and maintenance services for consumer-grade outdoor power equipment and small engine equipment.
By dropping off equipment, approving an estimate, scheduling service, or authorizing work, the customer agrees to the terms below.

2. Estimates and Repair Approval
Customers will be given an estimate before work beyond normal service is completed.
No major repair will be performed without customer approval.
An estimate may change if additional issues are found after disassembly, testing, cleaning, or further inspection.
Additional issues may include, but are not limited to:
-
Hidden damage
-
Seized hardware

Stripped bolts
-
Rusted parts
-

-
Bad bearings
-

Unsafe or missing parts
Michigan’s auto repair estimate rules are specific to motor vehicle repair facilities, but the safest business practice is still to provide written estimates and get approval before extra work. Michigan’s repair facility guide states that written estimates are required for motor vehicle repairs of $20 or more, which is a good standard to follow even for small equipment.
3. Diagnostic Fees
A diagnostic fee may apply when equipment is inspected, tested, or diagnosed.
If the customer approves the repair, the diagnostic fee may be applied toward the repair.
If the customer declines the repair, does not respond, or the machine is not worth repairing, the diagnostic fee remains due.
Diagnostic fees cover inspection time and are not a guarantee that the machine can be repaired economically.
4. Parts and Labor
Parts and labor are charged separately unless a service package specifically states otherwise.
Service package prices only include the listed items.
Additional parts, repairs, fluids, filters, belts, blades, cables, tires, tubes, batteries, deck parts, carburetor parts, and other replacement items are extra.
Customer-supplied parts may be refused. If accepted, customer-supplied parts are not covered by parts warranty.

6. Old Fuel and Carburetor Problems
Old fuel, contaminated fuel, ethanol damage, water in fuel, varnished carburetors, cracked fuel lines, bad primer bulbs, clogged filters, and fuel tank contamination are common causes of equipment failure.
Fuel-related repairs may require additional parts and labor.
West Edge Repairs & Service is not responsible for future fuel problems caused by old fuel, improper storage, contaminated fuel, or fuel left in the machine after service.

12. Storage and Abandoned Equipment
Customers will be contacted when equipment is completed, when an estimate is ready, or when a machine is declined for repair.
Equipment should be picked up within 7 days after notification unless other arrangements are made.
Equipment left more than 14 days after notification may be charged a storage fee of $5 per day.
Equipment left more than 30 days after notification may be considered abandoned, subject to applicable Michigan law.
Michigan guidance for repair facilities says a garage keeper may have a storage lien, with storage listed up to $10 per day unless otherwise agreed in writing, but abandoned/lien handling should be done carefully and in writing.
13. Declined Repairs / Not Worth Repairing
If the customer declines the repair, the diagnostic fee and any approved charges are still due.
Some machines may not be worth repairing due to age, condition, parts cost, machine value, or safety concerns.
West Edge Repairs & Service may recommend replacement instead of repair when repair cost is not practical.
14. Customer Communication
Customers are responsible for providing a working phone number or email address.
If the customer does not respond to estimate approval, pickup notice, or service questions, the machine may be delayed.
Text message approval, email approval, written approval, or signed approval may be used to authorize repairs.
15. Limitation of Liability
West Edge Repairs & Service is not liable for loss of use, missed work, yard conditions, weather-related delays, machine downtime, replacement rental equipment, or indirect damages.
Liability is limited to the cost of the specific service performed.
